However, if you want to work directly with Eric Roberts as your Apex Mentor and receive personalized guidance as you learn the trade and launch your own successful piano service business, you’ll need to apply first. Once your application is submitted, Eric will personally reach out to you to discuss the program, answer your questions, and determine if the mentorship is the right fit.
The mentorship includes courses, masterclasses, webinars, and a supportive online community. You will take the courses online at your own pace and participate in the weekly conversation on the social connection. There are two tiers of Apex certification.
The first tier focuses on piano tuning and repair. Upon successful completion of this phase, you will be awarded the designation of Apex Certified Piano Technician (CPT).
The second tier is a master-level certification, which is typically attainable within two to three years from the start of the program. To qualify, you must fulfill specified program requirements, collaborate with your mentor over an extended period, and successfully pass a series of examinations. Upon meeting these criteria, you will receive the esteemed Apex Certified Master Piano Technician (CMPT) designation.
The timeline will vary for each individual; however, many of my students begin earning income within six months of starting the program and continue to grow their earnings exponentially in the years that follow.
In the Apex Mentorship Program, you will learn how to tune pianos to a truly professional standard using an ETD (professional electronic tuning device). You will also gain hands-on skills in field repairs, regulation, and voicing, ensuring you can confidently service a wide range of instruments.
Beyond technical training, the program guides you through building your own piano service business from the ground up. You will learn how to create and launch a professional website, run effective Google and Facebook advertising campaigns, attract new clients, and integrate an online booking system that supports rapid and sustainable growth using my proven marketing techniques.

No, the price of the mentorship does not include tools. But don’t worry, to start off you only need a simple tuning kit you can get for around $100. Plus, you will get a wholesale account with the largest piano supply company in the USA and a full Apex list of suggested tools to purchase as you need them along the way. (You don’t have to spend a lot of money of tools to start this business!)
No, you do not need to find a local mentor. You can learn everything you need to start and run your own successful piano tuning business right here in the Apex mentorship. Sure, it helps to have some great friends and connections in the business, and I’ll help you find those, but you do not need a local mentor to be successful and complete the certification process… I am your mentor!
